1. Sign In
Click Sign in and choose Continue with Google. Neighborly uses your Google account for login, so there is no separate password to create.
2. Explore the Map
Open Map from the navigation bar. You can search for an address or place, allow location access to jump nearby, zoom in until building outlines appear, and switch between Satellite and Dark Map views.
3. Open a Place
Click a building outline to open its conversation panel. If there is no building outline, use Add place, then click an open area on the map to create an Added Place pin.
4. Read and Post Comments
The side panel shows comments for the selected place. Signed-in users can post a comment, reply to another comment, delete their own comments, and use starter prompts when a place has no comments yet.
Comments are limited to 500 characters. Avoid posting personal contact details such as phone numbers or email addresses.
5. Follow Places
Click Follow this place to receive updates when new comments are posted there. Followed places can also be viewed and managed from your profile.
6. Use Notifications
When someone comments on a place you follow or previously joined, the bell icon shows new notifications. Click a notification to return to that place on the map.
7. Manage Your Profile
Open your profile from your avatar or name in the navigation bar. You can change your display name, turn email notifications on or off, view places you follow, and manage hidden comments or blocked users.
8. Stay Safe
For comments from other users, you can report a comment, block a user to stop seeing their comments, or hide a specific comment from your view.
